Ubisoft gives free PC versions of digital Xbox games: list and how to claim

Since July 27, 2026, Microsoft and Ubisoft have expanded their partnership: if you own certain Ubisoft titles digitally on Xbox, you can claim the PC version at no extra cost through Ubisoft Connect. Official details on Xbox Wire. Progressive rollout for existing owners through August 4, 2026. New digital Xbox purchases of listed titles unlock PC immediately. On PC4Games: a free PC license still needs a PC that can run the game. Cross-check your build in the comparator — especially Rainbow Six Siege and The Crew Motorfest.

What Microsoft and Ubisoft announced on July 27, 2026

Per the Xbox Wire post, two parts: more Ubisoft content in the Xbox app on PC (Premium editions and selected DLC, including titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, or Rainbow Six Siege), plus an Xbox console → PC offer for 13 games.

Your eligible digital Xbox license unlocks the matching PC license on your Ubisoft / Ubisoft Connect account. This is not two-way Play Anywhere: buying on PC does not grant the Xbox version.

For most titles, the edition and DLC you own on Xbox follow to PC. Typical exceptions: premium currency and consumable (one-time use) content may not transfer.

The 13 digital Xbox games eligible for a free PC version

At launch, the offer covers: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs Legion.

You need a digital Xbox copy (Xbox One or Xbox Series depending on the title). A physical disc alone usually does not qualify for this digital entitlement offer.

Titles we cover on PC4Games: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and The Crew Motorfest. Before installing, check your hardware in the comparator.

How to claim the PC version in Ubisoft Connect

1. Update Ubisoft Connect to the latest version (required for titles to appear in your library).

2. Sign in with the Ubisoft account linked to your Microsoft / Xbox account.

3. Wait for the game to show in your PC library. For existing ownership, rollout is progressive through August 4, 2026. New digital purchases of listed titles get the PC license immediately.

4. In Ubisoft Connect, open game properties to confirm edition and DLC. For edge cases, the Xbox Wire FAQ is the official reference.

Key conditions (one-way, DLC, timing)

One-way only: digital Xbox → PC. Not the reverse.

Timeline: announced July 27, 2026; existing-owner PC licenses roll out through August 4, 2026. If a title is missing, wait until that date before contacting support.

DLC and editions generally transfer; consumables / one-time in-game currency often do not.

Launcher: PC versions run through Ubisoft Connect, even if you also use the Xbox app on PC. Plan for disk space (often 50–150 GB) and an SSD for Motorfest or Avatar.

PC impact: check your build before you install

A free license does not change system requirements. Competitive Siege at 1080p and open-world Motorfest stress different parts of a PC.

Watch Xbox Wire and Ubisoft for list expansions. PC4Games will update this article if more titles join.
