What PC do you need for Silent Hill Townfall after September 23, 2026?

Read the Steam notes. Minimum is meant for Low 1080p at 30 fps. Recommended is High 4K at 30 fps with upscaling (DLSS, FSR, or TSR Balanced). Generic guides skip that and sell a « 60 fps build » that does not exist on the official sheet.

If you want 60 fps at 1080p high, you need to step above minimum, especially on GPU and CPU. Townfall loads fog, lighting, and puzzles in St. Amelia: it is not a light 2D indie menu.

Steam lists 16 GB at minimum and 32 GB at recommended. With Chrome, Discord, and an overlay, 16 GB holds Low 1080p 30, but you have no slack. To match Konami’s sheet, 32 GB in two sticks is what I would aim for if you play on High.

The 75 GB install grows with patches. SATA SSD is fine. A hard drive is a non-starter for a 2026 title this heavy.

This band is Low / Medium 1080p around 30 fps, not competitive 144 Hz. An RTX 3060 or RX 6600 / 6700, 16 to 32 GB, SSD, CPU like Ryzen 5 5600 / i5-12400F: you sit above the paper 2060 Super without paying used-3080 prices that now match a 4070.

Skip « 8 GB + GTX 1650 » towers sold as Silent Hill ready. The logo boots. Foggy St. Amelia, less so.

You want steadier High, 1440p, or closer to 60 fps at 1080p: RTX 4060 / 4060 Ti or RX 7600 / 7700 XT, 32 GB dual-channel, 1 TB NVMe. Turn on DLSS or FSR when foggy zones tank the frame rate.

To match Steam recommended (High 4K 30 with upscaling) or stream Townfall: RTX 3080 / 4070 (or RX 7800 XT / 7900 GRE), 32 GB, SSD with room. Native 4K without DLSS/FSR is another budget entirely.

Past $1,950, you are mostly paying for other games. A Silent Hill survival caps earlier than a path-traced UE5 open world.

First Windows 11. Then RAM: if you are still on 16 GB and want High, go to 32 before swapping the GPU. Then an SSD if the game is still on a hard drive. GPU last, unless you are below a 2060 Super / RX 6600 while the rest is already fine.

If it hitchs only in dense fog and not indoors, you often do not « need a 3080 ». You need upscaling on, fewer overlays, or less than 16 GB saturated.
