What PC do you need for FIFA 27 in September 2026?

What PC do you need for FIFA 27 in September 2026?

FIFA 27 launches on 25 September 2026. If you bought the Ultimate Edition, you can already play from the 18th (up to a week early). On Steam and the EA App the box still says EA SPORTS FC 27 — same game. To size a build without falling for a marketing tower, we use EA’s PC Deep Dive: four tiers (Minimum, Recommended, High, Ultra), plus Performance and Balanced modes. In practice, aim for 16 GB RAM in two sticks, an SSD with 100 GB free, and at least a GTX 1660 / RX 5600 XT. High wants an RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT; Ultra an RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT and 32 GB. Tower budgets: $500–$650 to play properly, $650–$825 near recommended, $825–$1,200 for High, $1,200–$1,750 for Ultra or streaming. Trailer further down. Still on last season? See EA Sports FC 25.

Quick note on the name

Everyone still says FIFA 27. In the store it is EA SPORTS FC 27 (Steam 4080220). Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career — same game, different box art.

Ultimate (or Ultimate Plus) owners have been in since 18 September. Everyone else waits until the 25th. Native Windows on Steam or the EA App, DirectX 12, real broadband — no magic offline mode on launch night.

The Steam page mostly shows Minimum and Recommended. High and Ultra, with FPS and resolution targets, live in EA’s PC Deep Dive. That is the sheet we follow here.

EA’s four official tiers

Minimum targets 720p Low at 60 FPS in matches (30 in cutscenes): GTX 1050 Ti or RX 570, i5-6600K / Ryzen 5 1600, 8 GB dual-channel, Windows 10 or 11, 100 GB free. A hard drive still works at this tier, but menus will feel it.

Recommended moves to 1080p Medium: GTX 1660 / RX 5600 XT, i7-6700 / Ryzen 7 2700X, 12 GB dual-channel, and an SSD. High aims for 1440p at 60 FPS, or 1080p near 80 FPS in Performance mode, with RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT, i7-10700 / Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB, and Windows 11. Ultra targets 4K at 60 or 1440p at 120 FPS: RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT, i9-12900K / Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32 GB (EA explicitly says 2×16 GB).

Two details Amazon listings often skip. First, use two RAM sticks — a single 16 GB module underperforms a 2×8 kit. Second, the graphics menu now shows a VRAM meter, so you can see if Ultra textures blow past your card before you apply. Performance / Balanced presets help, but they will not save a tower with no named GPU.

What actually slows the PC down

A solo 1080p medium match on a 1660 can look fine. What hurts is the rest: EA client, Steam, Ultimate Team menus, evening patch, Discord, an SBC tab, sometimes YouTube on a second screen. EA trimmed Steam startup and worked on input under heavy CPU load — annual football is no longer « any old card will do » once you chain FUT nights.

Packed stadiums, cutscenes and Enhanced Ultra options push VRAM. If you aim High or Ultra, check the in-game meter before maxing every slider. Pitch detail like Grounds likes an NVMe with headroom: the 100 GB install grows with kits and season packs.

Under $650: a realistic floor

Under $500, you are mostly looking at used gear. A « 1050 Ti + 8 GB single stick + hard drive » box matches paper Minimum… and hitchs in FUT menus. Better: a GTX 1660 or RTX 3050, 16 GB as 2×8, and an SSD. That is a credible recommended zone, not just « the logo appears ».

Budget truly tight? Fix RAM and SSD first, GPU second. FIFA 27 does not need a 4070 to be playable. It needs not to sit at 95% memory while you open a pack.

$650–$825: the sensible middle

This is where you match EA Recommended without overpaying. Simple 2026 example: Ryzen 5 5500 or i5-12400F, 16 GB dual-channel, GTX 1660 Super, RTX 3060 8 GB or RX 6600, and a 1 TB NVMe. Stable 1080p medium/high with Discord open, including Ultimate weekend.

Filter this band in the comparator. If the Amazon listing hides the GPU behind « Football Ultra », skip it — you want the exact card name and RAM amount.

$825–$1,200: High, 1440p or 80 FPS

For High: RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT, 16 GB, CPU like i5-12400F / Ryzen 5 5600. Balanced aims comfortable 1440p; Performance pushes 1080p closer to 80 FPS on a 144 Hz monitor. EA lists Windows 11 here — plan for it if you are stuck on frozen Win 10.

Also a good band for Clubs or more serious FUT without paying Ultra. Beyond that you mostly buy resolution or streaming headroom.

$1,200–$1,750: Ultra, 4K, or stream

Here you want RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT, 32 GB dual-channel, and a strong CPU (7800X3D or similar). Pick 4K at 60 or 1440p at 120 based on your display. If you stream with OBS, Chrome and Discord, 32 GB is not fluff — it is exactly what EA puts on the Ultra sheet.

Past $1,750, you are mostly paying for other games or for aesthetics. For FIFA 27 alone, once you hit Ultra, the extra spend stops making sense.

You already own a PC: where to start

Order of ops: dual-channel RAM, then SSD, then GPU, CPU last. Still on one stick? Move to two. Get the game off a hard drive (EA only tolerates HDD at Minimum). Then buy the card for the tier you actually want — 1660, 3060 or 4070 — not « one generation up just in case ». Only touch the CPU if you are stuck on an old quad-core while the rest is already fine.

If hitching is mostly in FUT menus but not in matches, check RAM, overlays (GeForce Experience, RGB) and free NVMe space before blaming only the graphics card.

Ultimate, EA App, and the usual traps

Ultimate does not change the specs — it only moves the day your PC works. Keep 100 GB plus a bit of headroom before the download. EA App and/or Steam, Windows 10 or 11 64-bit (11 from High up), DirectX 12, stable broadband. Launch-night online football does not forgive saturated Wi-Fi.

Still looking up last season? Use EA Sports FC 25. For FIFA 27, filter in the comparator before Amazon or Newegg.

New, refurbished, or used?

Under $825, a used 3060 or RX 6600 often beats a new 8 GB marketing tower. For Ultra (4070 / 7800 XT), new eases warranty worry if you stream. Either way: two sticks, an SSD, and a clearly named GPU on the listing. The trailer also helps you see the target look before you buy on vibes.

Frequently asked questions

What PC do you need for FIFA 27 in September 2026?

Aim for 16 GB RAM in two sticks, an SSD with 100 GB free, and at least a GTX 1660 / RX 5600 XT. For EA High (1440p or about 80 FPS at 1080p): RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT. For Ultra (4K or 120 FPS at 1440p): RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT and 32 GB. Tower budgets: about $450–$600 to play properly, $600–$750 near recommended, $750–$1,100 for High, $1,100–$1,600 for Ultra or streaming (before tax).

Are FIFA 27 and EA Sports FC 27 the same game?

Yes. Everyone still says FIFA 27; storefronts list EA SPORTS FC 27 (Steam app 4080220). Same game: Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career.

When does FIFA 27 launch on PC?

Ultimate Edition from 18 September 2026 (up to a week early). Launch on 25 September 2026. Windows via Steam and/or EA App, DirectX 12, broadband required.

What are the official FIFA 27 PC specs?

Minimum: GTX 1050 Ti / RX 570, i5-6600K / Ryzen 5 1600, 8 GB dual-channel, 720p Low 60 FPS. Recommended: GTX 1660 / RX 5600 XT, i7-6700 / Ryzen 7 2700X, 12 GB, 1080p Medium. High: RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT, i7-10700 / Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB, 1440p 60 or 1080p 80. Ultra: RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT, i9-12900K / Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32 GB, 4K 60 or 1440p 120. Sources: EA PC Deep Dive and Steam.

Does FIFA 27 need dual-channel RAM?

Yes. EA says two modules beat one stick of the same capacity (for example 2×8 GB over a single 16 GB; 2×16 GB at Ultra). Often the cheapest win before buying a new GPU.

Do you need an SSD for FIFA 27?

HDD is still allowed at Minimum, but Recommended, High and Ultra list an SSD. Install size is 100 GB and grows with the season. An SSD (ideally NVMe) calms FUT menus, patches and texture streaming.

Is 8 GB of RAM enough for FIFA 27?

EA allows it at Minimum, but with Discord, a FUT browser and launchers, 16 GB dual-channel is the credible 2026 floor. Ultra asks for 32 GB.

How we wrote this guide

Cross-checked with the Steam EA SPORTS FC 27 page (app 4080220) and EA’s PC Deep Dive (four tiers, September 2026), plus US street prices (Amazon.com, Newegg). Editorial update: 19 September 2026.

  • Angle: which PC to buy for FIFA 27, with the store name EA FC 27 mentioned once.
  • Based on EA’s four tiers (Performance / Balanced, dual-channel), not only Steam Min/Rec.
  • FC 25 stays on its own page for the previous season.
