ARC Raiders PC requirements — honest specs for US players in 2026
Googled ARC Raiders system requirements after a wipe weekend or a r/buildapc thread? ARC Raiders (Embark Studios, live since October 30, 2025 on Steam — app 1808500) is a PvPvE extraction shooter on Unreal Engine 5 — same studio as The Finals, but with loot you actually extract. Short answer (July 2026): Steam's minimum is older than most template guides assume: GTX 1050 Ti / RX 580, 12 GB RAM, i5-6600K / Ryzen 5 1600 for 1080p Low ~60 FPS. Recommended is RTX 2070 / RX 5700 XT, 16 GB, Ryzen 5 3600 for 1440p High ~60 FPS. PC install sits around ~33 GB; budget 50 GB free on NVMe. Realistic US spend: $700–$875 for comfortable 1080p, $950–$1,200 for the Steam recommended tier — not the outdated hub blurb that still says « expected requirements » and RTX 3060 / RTX 4070 Super tiers.

Official Steam requirements (July 2026)
Pulled from the Steam support page in July 2026. Embark does not list storage on Steam — community installs report ~32–33 GB on PC, with live-service patches eating more over time.

| CPU | Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | Intel Core i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 12 GB | 16 GB |

| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Network | Broadband internet | Broadband internet |
| Storage (observed) | ~33 GB install — fast SSD strongly advised | 50 GB+ free on NVMe (game + UE5 shader cache) |
What « minimum » really means on US hardware
Steam's GTX 1050 Ti floor targets 1080p Low ~60 FPS per Embark's own performance notes — not maxed 1080p. Third-party benches often show ~30–45 FPS on a 1050 Ti at 1080p Low without FSR, with hitches in dense robot fights (community GPU tests). Treat minimum as bootable, not competitive.
The surprise spec is 12 GB RAM, not the GPU. Plenty of US prebuilts still ship 8 GB at $500 — that fails Steam's floor before you open Discord. A $40–$60 DDR4 kit upgrade beats buying a new GPU for minimum-tier players.
If you already own a GTX 1660 Super / RX 5600 XT, you are above minimum. The Steam recommended RTX 2070 class is what you want for 1440p High, not an RTX 4070 unless you chase Ultra.
DLSS 4, RTXGI, and why GPU generation matters
ARC Raiders ships with DLSS 4 (including Multi-Frame Generation on supported RTX 40/50 cards) and NVIDIA RTXGI for dynamic global illumination on PC — Embark did not rely on Lumen alone. In practice: RTX 3060+ owners get a bigger uplift from DLSS Quality/Balanced than Pascal owners stuck on native res.
Intel Arc A380 (minimum) and Arc B570 (recommended) are officially listed — useful if you shop Micro Center open-box Intel GPUs. Driver maturity still matters; verify the latest Arc package before raid night.
AMD players: FSR 2/3 works, but check you are not on a broken Adrenalin drop — ARC Raiders launch week had reports of instability on specific driver branches; rolling back fixed stutter for some rigs.
You do not need ray tracing on to enjoy raids. Competitive US players often run Medium–High with upscaling, not max RTXGI, to keep 1% lows stable during extractions.
NVMe, SATA, and why HDD kills extractions
UE5 streams open zones and VFX-heavy firefights. Community troubleshooting (Reddit, Discord) is blunt: HDD installs hitch when new tiles load — you die in the open while textures pop. SATA SSD is the floor; NVMe TLC is what you want for consistent 1% lows.
Watch cheap QLC DRAM-less NVMe drives in sub-$50 1 TB listings on Amazon. Under sustained streaming, some high-end GPUs still stutter until the game moves to a faster drive — a known pattern with UE5 live titles.
Plan 50 GB free even though the base game is ~33 GB: shader compilation after patches, seasonal downloads, and Windows swap if you skim on RAM.
Ultra / Epic tier (beyond Steam recommended)
Embark's Ultra profile (communicated pre-launch, not on the Steam store page) targets 1440p Epic ~90 FPS with RTX 4070 Ti / RX 7900 XTX, i7-9700K / Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM. That is for maxed visuals on a 1440p 165 Hz panel — not required to play.
For most US players: hit Steam recommended first (RTX 2070 or modern equivalents like RTX 3060 12 GB / RX 6700 XT), then tune upscaling. An RTX 4070 Super is comfortable headroom, not a Steam mandate.
| Tier | Example GPU | Target |
|---|---|---|
| Steam minimum | GTX 1050 Ti / RX 580 | 1080p Low, ~60 FPS |
| Steam recommended | RTX 2070 / RX 5700 XT | 1440p High, ~60 FPS |
| Ultra (Embark) | RTX 4070 Ti / RX 7900 XTX | 1440p Epic, ~90 FPS |
US budget builds ($650–$1,500)
Street prices on Amazon.com, Newegg, Micro Center bundles, and eBay used GPUs — July 2026 ballparks before sales tax. Used RTX 2070 Super / RX 5700 XT cards near $180–$250 are the value play for Steam recommended.
| Budget | GPU / CPU | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| ~$600–$700 | RX 580 / GTX 1650 Super + Ryzen 5 3600 | 1080p Medium, playable extractions |
| ~$875 | RTX 3060 12 GB / RX 6700 XT + i5-12400F | 1080p High or 1440p Medium + DLSS/FSR |
| $950–$1,200 | RTX 2070 Super / RX 5700 XT + Ryzen 5 5600 | 1440p High near Steam recommended |
| $1,425–$1,625 | RTX 4070 Ti / RX 7800 XT + Ryzen 7 5700X | 1440p Epic or high-refresh headroom |
Tarkov, The Finals, and what transfers to ARC Raiders
Escape from Tarkov veterans already own the mindset: SSD, 16 GB+ RAM, stable 1% lows matter more than average FPS screenshots. ARC Raiders is less CPU-insane in stash menus, but open-map streaming punishes slow storage the same way.
The Finals proved Embark can optimize UE5 destruction at scale. ARC Raiders adds persistent extraction loops — slightly heavier disk and RAM at end-of-raid, not a generational leap to Black Myth-class demands.
If Tarkov runs acceptably on your box, ARC Raiders is likely fine after a storage check. If only The Finals ran well, you are probably already in recommended territory.
Amazon prebuilt traps before you buy « for ARC Raiders »
Trap 1 — « RTX 4070 Super gaming desktop » marketing. Great card, but Steam recommends RTX 2070 — do not pay ultra pricing because the game is new.
Trap 2 — 8 GB RAM + RGB. Fails Steam's 12 GB minimum. Verify dual-channel 16 GB in the spec sheet, not just « 8 GB DDR4 » in the title.
Trap 3 — 1 TB HDD + 256 GB SSD with the game on HDD. Move ARC Raiders to the SSD partition day one.
Trap 4 — ignoring CPU at 1080p 240 Hz. ARC Raiders can go CPU-bound chasing very high FPS; i5-12400F / Ryzen 5 5600 beats a GPU upgrade if you are already on a 2070-class card.
Checklist: NVMe with 50 GB free, 16 GB RAM, GPU at or above recommended for 1440p, verify game files after each major patch, test on your current rig before financing — the base game is often ~$40 on Steam sales.
