Methodik — Wie PC4Games funktioniert

In brief

PC4Games cross-references official Steam game requirements with Amazon-available PCs to recommend the best configuration for your budget. Recommendations are independent — funded only by Amazon affiliate commissions, with no commercial agreements with manufacturers.

1. Data sources: official Steam requirements

PC4Games uses as its primary source the official system requirements published by game developers directly on the Steam platform (store.steampowered.com). These requirements are defined by studios to ensure their games run properly.

Each Steam game page contains minimum specifications (for acceptable playability) and recommended specifications (for optimal experience). PC4Games aggregates this data to compare with PC configurations available on Amazon.

Important limitation: Steam requirements are sometimes optimistic or outdated. PC4Games cross-references them with benchmarks from reference media (Tom's Hardware, Digital Foundry, TechPowerUp) for the most popular games to provide realistic FPS estimates.

2. Amazon gaming PC selection

Gaming PCs listed on PC4Games are products available on Amazon (national Amazon stores depending on locale). PC4Games only selects PCs with a dedicated graphics card (GPU), NVMe or SATA SSD, and a modern processor compatible with the targeted games.

PCs are filtered and ranked by price range. PC4Games does not list PCs with only an integrated GPU (iGPU) on gaming pages — these configurations are noted as unsuitable for gaming in our guides.

Amazon products are updated regularly (daily for prices, weekly for selection). Availability and prices may change — always verify on Amazon before purchasing.

3. Amazon affiliate policy

PC4Games is a member of the Amazon Associates Program. This means when you purchase a product via a PC4Games link, Amazon pays PC4Games a commission (typically 2–5% of the product price depending on category). For you, the price is exactly the same.

This commission is our primary revenue source and allows us to maintain the free service without subscriptions or intrusive advertising. It creates no commercial pressure on our recommendations.

In compliance with GDPR and FTC regulations, every page containing Amazon affiliate links displays a visible disclosure notice. PC4Games has no direct commercial agreement with PC manufacturers (ASUS, MSI, Corsair, Vibox, etc.).

4. Editorial independence

No PC gaming manufacturer, component maker, or peripheral brand pays PC4Games to appear in our selections or rankings. Recommendations are exclusively based on technical data (Steam requirements, GPU/CPU specs) and estimated performance.

PC4Games does not accept free products from manufacturers in exchange for favorable coverage. Guides and comparisons are written by Thomas (founder) based on independent research and benchmark data published by specialist media.

5. Content update frequency

Amazon prices: checked daily via the Amazon Associates API. Displayed prices are indicative and may vary between reading and purchase.

PC selection: updated weekly. New models added, out-of-stock models removed.

Steam requirements: updated at major game releases or when patches modify specifications. Configuration guides are revised at significant game updates.

Guides and articles: reviewed at minimum every 3 months to reflect component price changes and new releases. The last update date is displayed at the top of each guide.

6. Performance estimates (FPS)

FPS estimates on PC4Games are based on benchmark data published by Tom's Hardware, Digital Foundry, TechPowerUp, and Linus Tech Tips. These values are averages from multiple tests and may vary based on installation, settings, and specific game.

PC4Games uses estimates at 1080p (FHD) and 1440p (QHD) resolution on the most common graphics settings (High/Ultra depending on the game). Ray tracing is not enabled unless explicitly mentioned. DLSS/FSR are not activated in the base FPS figures unless stated.

These estimates are indicative — they do not constitute actual tests on the specific PCs sold by Amazon. Real-world performance may vary by ±15% depending on software configuration, drivers, and temperatures.
